Paul McClintock / blog

I sell shirts through redbubble and pretend to be an artist. This blog sometimes contains my own stuff, but mostly examples of art, illustrations and films that inspire me.

If you think this is ok, think about voting for it. And who knows? Reblogging couldn’t hurt!plauk:

I started this today. The purpose is to win me a new Wacom Intuos4, although that’s really just an excuse. It’s been several hours already, but this is a single sitting so far.

‘Dear Esther’ work in progress shots. I’m still having trouble believing the source engine is capable of this level of realism. Robert Briscoe has spent the last year (or 2?) recreating a free half life 2 mod, called ‘Dear Esther’, somehow pushing the source engine beyond anything even Valve can produce. Usually I don’t hope that free mods turn commercial, but this one deserves it. This guy is a true artist, and deserves money for this.

definatalie:

I need your help for an illustration job I am hopeful to undertake. I need references for anatomy and posing of (minimum) 2 people engaged in sexy and loving contact and
a) I don’t watch porn
b) In my research in the last week I have found that representation of diverse body shapes is pretty much…

Can anyone help Natalie find some porn for entirely professional reasons? Here’s a chance to justify your collection by being altruistic and only risking mild embarrassment in the process. Perhaps my grandparents are reading this; do you guys know where to find some appropriate fat porn? How about you people I used to go to school or work with and who I now only interact with on facebook; one of you must be into this kind of thing. Why are you holding out? You’re not fooling anyone!

Fun project: Bec and I went for a walk, took some photos of the neighbourhood and now I’m drawing desperate and/or homeless animals onto them. These two feature a suicidal cartoon bear about to jump off the Collingwood flats and a homeless Alligator living under the Epping/Hurstbridge train line, begging for gazelle but only receiving loose change.
Bec is going to further enhance this by printing the sketched parts onto card and photographing them separately in a studio setting and then compositing them back together… or at least, that’s the plan. Other concepts include a grizzly bear scrounging through a recycling bin and a pelican perched on a beam in a back alley beside a flooded drain.plauk:
